Syrian strife

Who is responsible for gassing hundreds of Syrian civilians in Syria? Bashar al-Assad [who does not claim responsibility], or, rebel forces within the country [who it seems are also denying responsibility for]? My country’s government is sending the message that it does not matter who is to blame – what’s more important, is not getting to the evidence for everyone to see. Prepping to attack Bashar al-Assad this Thursday, and already positioned to do so, why should any inspection [which will take longer than just a few more days-passing Thursday] be allowed to make a determination? The message that my country’s leaders are sending out, is that solving crimes does not matter, when acts of war are preferred. Is that how petty crime is solved nowadays in my country as well?

red and blue

The animated video I posted previously in writings, mirrored the temporary satisfaction felt by a socialist movement and national rebellion against traditionally right social values. It became justified, in numbers, as an attack against corporate greed. In this spirit, the president won his election just before. He even managed to save banks and large corporations while the occupy movement paid a large price in its rebellions. Capitalism has its gluttons, but the left is no inoculation. Spreading materialistic ideology among more people, does not fix the sin. When the very food supply is manipulated by trading impulse and corporate will, a republican or a democrat executive in one country, must have the support of many countries, in order to satisfy mass hunger. I chuckle at the thought that a video might have been animated characterizing Ms. Palin and former US president Jimmy Carter vs. one another, had Ms. Palin been elected US president. Would Ms. Palin have been the Reagan of the 21st century? Would Mr. Carter have been the voice of reason in this animated video? Since posting that video, we have all witnessed problems emerging in the democratic monopoly. If we look at one example of what has changed in terms of compromised values, it used to be that the left opposed war, generally. That too has changed.

Thoughts about nihilism. Alive and well?

When one looks to leader(s) to properly govern, one can lose heart and lose faith that good will prevail. Years of disillusionment can cause social ills. But, that is no reason to give up. Unfortunately, many of us people turn towards one another and revile, in a climate that buckles under crime and injustice. Before you speak against one another, take care to know why. We should also be mindful that we should seek God’s forgiveness if we are falsely directing anger.
I recently looked up a word that in past years has jumped in to my consciousness from time to time. It is a word that I heard, without knowing its definition. I kind of knew what it meant, but now I really do.
If there are any “masterminds” among us [of course none greater than the Lord Himself], they / we are most certainly not self-made, no, rather inspired to protect the weak, or conversely, [sadly] inspired to counter malicious politicking. So what am I getting at? I’m inspired at this moment in this way, by the definition of this word that popped in to my head. And I’m particularly proud of having been moved to think about this word. The word is nihilism.
This is relevant. Nihilism is “a skepticism which denies that anything, even existence, can be known; doctrine of a former extreme party in Russia, who aimed to destroy the then existing institutions and found a new order of things, with communistic rights of land and property.”
Why do I mention this? I do, because after years’ internal ideological clashes, there is belief that should not be celebrated or permitted. We have permitted totalitarianism and nihilism to co-exist, applied out of “conveniences” for the particular argument. It’s a dangerous cocktail, supported further by continued unrighteous living. Worse, all these philosophies are being perceived still by many as normal when in fact this is not natural for humans.
Let us not get caught in the rip tide. Embrace progressive ideas that reform injustice and tyranny, yes! But, go not seek to tear down every human attempt at creating order and harmony that exercise clear boundaries and prudence. Reject bad ideas, yes, but not good ones. Allow progressive ideas to flourish, and do NOT strike them down out of fear, greed, jealousy, or, worst… nihilism.

Egypt 2

For those of my readers who are unclear about where to stand with regard to what’s happening in Egypt, I too am having a difficult time sorting through the journals.

And, it has been reported that “Egyptians have lived under a police state”.

I believe that ousted leaders should not resume post.

Who poses a greater danger to Christian and Jewish minorities in Egypt?

It does not appear to me that the military has any intentions of killing Christians or Jews. For this reason alone, without many facts, the choice appears clear to me.

I’ll look for news about how Christians are treated there.
They resemble [to me] a group who must survive, like Jews who have been able to survive [in post war] Germany to date.

Those of us who can help the Egyptians through policy and big money, should try to figure out whether the military can provide more stability for them than the other groups.

As for weapons embargos, yes, a wise decision.

about my January 22 post, and the British royal family

About my post on January 22 “Harry speaks out”, I’ve had a change of heart with one of my comments, Harry. All lies should be gone after, with fervor and rage. Honesty is in too short supply!
I’d like to also congratulate your family – Kate and William (duke and duchess), on their new baby boy.

please do not

Governor Jerry Brown; it is reported that you were not sure whether you were going to desire another term. Please do not seek one. I don’t know what you would bring to the state exactly again, but I believe a change is due.

I would like to make an appeal to all those considering the post for US presidency. Do not go to war with Iran, or Russia, or anyone else for that matter.

drug bust

Congratulations and thanks go out to the southern California drug enforcement agents and police who have recently put a stop to a budding synthetic drug organization. Those synthetic drugs would have done great damage to the community as would have the dealers and activities.
